Mats Hummels must endure the anger of Borussia Dortmund fans to be a success at Bayern Munich, Christoph Metzelder has warned.
Bayern announced on Tuesday Hummels has agreed a five-year contract and will move to Allianz Arena on July 1, subject to passing a medical.
Dortmund publicly confirmed last month the centre-back had informed them of his desire to move back to his former club, prompting an angry response from some BVB supporters in the 5-1 Bundesliga win over Wolfsburg.
And former Dortmund defender Metzelder, who incurred the wrath of Signal Iduna Park when he joined arch-rivals Schalke from Real Madrid in 2010, says Hummels must be ready to cope with similar treatment.
He has family roots in Munich. He has the chance to win a lot of titles at Bay…

The player s current deal is due to expire in June 2015 and the club officials have already opened talks with Pique s representatives.
El Mundo Deportivo has suggested that sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta and agent Arturo Canales are close to reaching an agreement after holding a meeting in England.
Pique is, therefore, expected to put pen to paper on a contract until June 2018 as he will be rewarded for becoming a key player at Camp Nou.
The 27-year-old returned to the club from Manchester United in the summer of 2008 and has since enjoyed a great deal of success in Catalunya.
His side currently trail Real Madrid in the La Liga standings, and they are…
Southampton midfielder Steven Davis believes his Northern Ireland boss Michael O Neill has what it takes to manage in the Premier League.
The 46-year-old, who led League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers into the group stages of the Europa League in 2011, has seen his stock rise at Euro 2016 after Northern Ireland emerged from Group C with a victory over Ukraine before being beaten 1-0 by Wales in Paris on Saturday.
Davis signed a new contract to remain at Southampton until 2019 earlier this month but his club are without a manager following Ronald Koeman s departure to Everton, and he feels they could do worse than turn to O Neill.
Stranger things have happened in football, he said. For me, as a player, be it as a player or a manager, everybody needs an opportu…
Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has denied allegations of tax evasion after Portuguese authorities opened a criminal investigation.
According to Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, the Portuguese government are probing Scolari over €7million worth of unpaid taxes that were allegedly unreported by the World-Cup winning coach during his spell in charge of Portugal between 2003 and 2008.
The 65-year-old is also suspected of money laundering involving companies in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands.
However, Scolari rejected the accusations in a statement released by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on Tuesday.

Former Brazil coach Mano Menezes has been confirmed for a second stint at the helm of Corinthians.
The 51-year-old s appointment was announced by director Roberto de Andrade on Wednesday, replacing Tite, who helped the club win the Copa Libertadores and FIFA Club World Cup last year but was not handed a contract extension.
Menezes first spell in charge of the club came between 2007 and 2010, when he led them to the Serie B title in 2008, before claiming the 2009 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil.
During that time, Menezes took charge of 185 fixtures, producing 103 wins, 49 draws and 33 defeats.
An unsuccessful two-year period in charge of the national team followed, before returning to the domestic game for a short-lived reign at Flamengo earlier in 2013.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta says his decision to dismiss Xavi came after doubts the Blaugrana head coach had lost faith in his squad.
The LaLiga giants were expected to part ways with former midfielder Xavi at the end of the season, only for the Spaniard to change his mind and opt to fulfill his contract with the club.
Yet in another unexpected turn of events, Xavi was given his marching orders – and chief Laporta claims the Barcelona boss had expressed concerns over the capabilities of his current players.
If Xavi can change his mind, so can we, Laporta said in an interview with Barca One, the Blaugrana s in-house television channel.
Everything was a bit forced when we decided to keep him on. Xavi is a club legend and his enthusiasm led us to th…
According to , Chelsea have submitted an official offer for Borussia Dortmund s Christian Pulisic.
The 20-year-old forward is seen as someone who could potentially replace Eden Hazard as the club slowly prepare a contingency plan should the Belgian decide to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
However, Dortmund apparently want £70million for the services of the young forward, and Chelsea s offer is believed to be less than that. Apart from the gap in the valuation of the player, the German club also want Pulisic to remain at least until the end of the season, and if that s not enough to complicate matters for Chelsea, the USA international would in any case reportedly prefer a move to Liverpool, where he would be reunited with former Dortmund boss Jurgen K…

Chelsea moved back to within a point of Premier League leaders Manchester City courtesy of a comfortable 2-0 win against Southampton at St Mary s Stadium on Sunday.
Eden Hazard and Diego Costa scored the goals to give the visitors a fourth top-flight victory in a row and put Wednesday s EFL Cup exit at the hands of rivals West Ham behind them.
Antonio Conte named the same starting line-up that dispatched Manchester United 4-0 last week and they again enjoyed a strong start as Hazard shot between the legs of Fraser Forster in just the sixth minute.
Claude Puel s Saints, who had not lost any of their previous five league matches, enjoyed plenty of possession without mustering a serious threat to Chelsea s disciplined defence.
Costa struck a brilliant sec…
