Brighton have announced that Fabian Hurzeler has become their new head coach, a club statement confirmed on Saturday.

Hurzeler, 31, signs a three-year deal and arrives at the Amex having led St Pauli to the Bundesliga 2 title last season by winning 20 of their 34 matches.

Hurzeler will also become the youngest ever full-time boss of a Premier League since the league began in 1992.

Day eight of the Euro 2008 tournament saw Spain beat Sweden 2-1 and defending champions Greece go out of the tournament losing 1-0 to Russia.
