Martial rues ´disastrous´ Euro 2016

Anthony Martial has admitted his Euro 2016 was disastrous  after he played just 69 minutes as France reached the final.

The Manchester United forward enjoyed a productive debut campaign at Old Trafford with 12 goals in all competitions, earning him a first international call from Didier Deschamps.

He was included in the France squad for the finals but struggled when called upon, the 20-year-old only starting one match and being hauled off at half-time.

When introduced late on in the final against Portugal he was unable to make a difference, bringing an end to a disappointing tournament for the striker.

It was a very difficult Euros, we didn t manage to win the title and the coach only played me for 45 minutes it was pretty disastrous, he told Telefoot…

Euro 2008 round two, Who’s HOT and who’s NOT, volume 2!

Day eight of the Euro 2008 tournament saw Spain beat Sweden 2-1 and defending champions Greece go out of the tournament losing 1-0 to Russia.

In the early game Spain took the lead after fourteen minutes when Silva chipped the ball into the Sweden area and Liverpool s Fernando Torres opened his Euro 2008 account at full stretch with a neat finish.

The lead only lasted until the thirty-third minute when the ball fell to Ibrahimovic in the Spain box and he mishit the ball past Casillas who should have done better.

Spain were denied a clear cut penalty on the stroke of half-time when David Villa was flattened but the referee inexplicably waved play on.

The Spaniards gradually took control of the second half but met their match in the Swedish keeper, Isakss…

Spain 2-1 England: Oyarzabal´s late heroics power La Roja to Euro 2024 glory

Mikel Oyarzabal proved the late hero as his winner saw Spain down England 2-1 on Sunday.

Spain became the first team in history to win the European Championship on four separate occasions as Oyarzabal s smart finish four minutes from time sealed a historic victory in Berlin.

Substitute Cole Palmer had earlier cancelled out Nico Williams second-half opener, only for Real Sociedad s Oyarzabal to break English hearts in the Three Lions second consecutive Euros final.

Gareth Southgate s side almost levelled in the final minute, but Unai Simon and Dani Olmo were the defensive heroes for Spain as England became the first team to lose back-to-back Euros finals.

AFC Champions League Review: Sydney suffer first home loss since 2016, CSL sides stutter

Suwon Bluewings made a strong start to their AFC Champions League campaign by inflicting a first home defeat in almost two years on Sydney FC, while Chinese Super League sides Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai Shenhua were both held to 1-1 draws.

Two-time Champions League winners Suwon will have been expecting a challenge given Sydney s incredible record at the Allianz Stadium and their status as runaway leaders in their domestic A-League campaign, but ultimately it proved comfortable as they won 2-0 win on the road.

New signing Dejan Damjanovic broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, finding the net in style from 25 yards and the Montenegrin doubled his tally soon after, converting a penalty after Brandon O Neill was guilty of handling in the area.

New Netherlands coach De Boer: This team is more talented than 2010 World Cup finalists

Frank de Boer believes he has inherited a Netherlands squad that is even better than the one that reached the World Cup final a decade ago.

The new Oranje coach, confirmed as Ronald Koeman s successor, was on Bert van Marwijk s coaching staff at the 2010 World Cup when Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder et al made the final, only to be beaten by Spain after extra time.

The Netherlands missed out on qualification for the previous World Cup in 2018 having also been absent from Euro 2016 but De Boer is bullish about the future having signed a two-year contract that will take in next year s delayed European Championship and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

This selection is perhaps even more talented than that of 2010, De Boer told reporters.

Adam Thielen MNF Spotlight: Prime Spot for Vikings Receiver to Shine

The second leg of the Week 2 MNF doubleheader has bettors looking at Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles picks, as the two teams clash at Lincoln Financial Field.

Each squad started the 2022 season with a win, as Minnesota thumped the rival Green Bay Packers, 23-7, while Philly outlasted the Lions in Detroit, 38-35.

This game features several intriguing players, who of course will be the subject of some equally intriguing prop bets. While the flashy Justin Jefferson has understandably stolen most of the headlines for Minnesota over the last year or so, prop bettors shouldn’t sleep on fellow wide receiver Adam Thielen, who could potentially have a big impact in this one.

Here are our three favorite Adam Thielen props for Monday, S…

Packers vs Falcons Odds, Picks, and Predictions Week 2: Don't Expect a Track Meet

After dismantling the Chicago Bears in his first home NFL start, Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love will enter Week 2 on the road vs. the Atlanta Falcons as a near pick ‘em on the NFL Week 2 odds board after the Packers flipped from a slight favorite to a slight dog on Thursday. The indoor meeting sits with a total of 40.5 on the NFL odds.

With the Packers dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball and the Falcons content running the ball and not being aggressive down the field, is there still room for bettors to back the Under 40.5 after it opened at 41.5?

Here are my free NFL Week 2 picks for Packers vs. Falcons.
